Indian Historical Cities


The Indian cities are among some of the world's populated and diverse cities of the world. Each cities has its own and different culture. Since India was the part of great Indus valley Civilization, there are lots of towns and area which has the strong and long history. The Indus Valley Civilization was spread from modern Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana to approx all eastern part of Pakistan. Some north Indian cities like Varanasi popularly known as Banaras or Kashi, hardware; Patna, Allahabad or Allahabad was the major hub and habituated areas of Vedic civilization. These cities are also among the few cities that are manned continuously throughout the many years. In South India, Madurai, Rameshwaram, Calicut was also historical cities.

Indian Subcontinent was totally unique in past. And in today’s world, nothing has been changed. You can find some great monuments, historical temple, mosque as well as mythological areas which are written in some of the Hindu Puranas and Granths. A city like Pataliputra (Patna), Kushinagar, Gaya, Sarnath Sanchi, has the Buddhist Monuments.

Cities like Hardwar, Hrishikesh, and most of the Uttarakhand area, Allahabad, Nashik, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Varanasi, Guwahati was played major part of Hindu religion's history. Many of the scriptures mention these cities many times. It is an amazing fact that many of the Practice and tradition who were the part of the Vedic time still practice in these cities.


There are also numbers of Muslim monuments and Islamic architecture in India as India has ruled by many Muslim kings from 11’Th century to end of the British area. However there was not a single king ruled entire empire of India but some Mughal emperor like Akbar, Shahajahan, has ruled major portion of Indian Subcontinent. Places like Agra, Delhi, Fatehpur Sikri, Lahore (Now in Pakistan), Burhanpur, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Lucknow, KuchBihar has some marvelous Islamic architectures of. Agra's Taj mahal, one of the most visited structures of the world is also a mausoleum.

Delhi was the capital of Delhi sultanate, an empire started in 11’Th Century by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, and also it was capital of Mughal Empire. So Delhi was the major hub of Education and Islamic cultural center. Delhi has some great monuments as well as historical places. Delhi is one of oldest place of India having continually settlement throughout the history. Delhi was also the center of mythological epic "Mahabharata" Delhi’s name was "Indraprastha" in Mahabharata.

Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand the two states is playing key role in Indian history. Although these two states were not exist in that time but it has many historical cities because some major parts of Old Magadha Empire, Avadh falls under it. Also the Hindu God "Ram" was also born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh is the center and most prominent part of Vedic Civilization. Some Places of Uttar Pradesh like Hardwar, Ayodhya, Mathura, Varanasi, Prayag, are Hindu's Prominent Pilgrims. The famous and Holy river Ganga (Ganges) and Yamuna has major portion in Uttar Pradesh. It is also home of the several Jain and Buddhist Pilgrims.

Madurai, Cochin, Tiruvanantpuram, Rameswharam, Hampi, are some few places which has historical background. South India has different blend in culture than North India but overall India's each place is distinct in many aspects but yet they are similar in diversity and rich culture.

North east India has unique culture. Basically north east India fall in South East Asia so its culture, Practice, language and atmosphere is very much similar to south eastern Countries. But this zone has tremendous culture which they kept intake from many years.




Mandu
In East India and Central India places like Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore, Mandu, Burhanpur, Kutch, Somnath, Nashik, Raigarh, Gwalior are some example who has some historical background, although in Gujarat and Rajasthan there is some Indus valley Civilization sites. Bhopal, Mandu and Burhanpur are some places who are rules by the Muslim emperor after the fallout of Mughal Empire during 17’Th and 18’Th Century.

The list is so big because the overall India is a Historical Place. It is home of the world's oldest civilization. Several Religions emerged from India. This country is attacked by several times and destroy several times but each time it stand and teaches the lesson of peace to the world.
