Dalhousie: An Old British Charm

 It is a town in Chamba district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Dalhousie is a very beautiful tourist place located in the middle of the Dhauladhar mountain ranges. Situated on five mountains (Kathlong, Potrain, Tehra, Bakrota and Balun), this hill station is part of Chamba district. The British settled and developed it in 1854 and the place was named Dalhousie after the then Viceroy Lord Dalhousie.

British soldiers and bureaucrats used to come here to spend their summer holidays. Apart from the enchanting valleys and mountains, the other attractions here are the ancient temples of Chamba and the Pangi Valley. This place was a special place to save the British from the heat at that time. British people come here in summer for peace and cool weather, and since then this place has gradually developed into a tourist place.

But before coming in the rain, find out the way here. Because it is located in hilly areas. And many times the road here gets broken due to rain, so the roads are completely closed. So that's why whenever you come in the rainy season, come after finding the way.

If you want to come in winter season then you can come. From December to January, February, a lot of snow falls here. If you come in time then you can also enjoy snow heavy. And also there are many hotels and resorts here. where you can stay.

 1. By Road:- Delhi National Highway 1 to Jalandhar, from there National Highway 1 to Pathankot, Dalhousie here is just 68 kms away.

2. Rail Route:- Nearest Rail Junction is Chakki Bank. Which is 58 kms away.

3. By Air:- Nearest airport is Gaggal. Which is 124 kms away.
